課程概述

本課程設定為大學部中高級與研究所入門課程，培養學生參與跨領域的研究，從化學與火的經驗、文化研究角度，理論性分析當代新型態的環境議題。這一堂課將從chemical geography的近期研究呼籲出發，橫跨人類學、環境史與STS對於燃燒的研究文獻，將探討人類世與氣候變遷、空氣污染、環境毒物等三大當代議題，期待學生可以進一步探究人類大規模燃燒而導致的全球環境問題之中，人體、化學物質與環境之間，糾纏而無法分割、既共構又共滅的人與環境關係。 

課程目標
 本課程設定為大學部中高級與研究所入門課程，培養學生參與跨領域的研究，從化學與火的經驗、文化研究角度，理論性分析當代新型態的環境議題。這一堂課將從chemical geography的近期研究呼籲出發，橫跨人類學、環境史與STS對於燃燒的研究文獻，將探討人類世與氣候變遷、空氣污染、環境毒物等三大當代議題，期待學生可以進一步探究人類大規模燃燒而導致的全球環境問題之中，人體、化學物質與環境之間，糾纏而無法分割、既共構又共滅的人與環境關係。 
課程要求
 1. 每周作業 (40%)，包括(1) 課前：文本摘要、評析、相關新聞全文、新聞與文獻對話。(2) 課後:上課自我反思整理。
2. 期末報告 (45%)，一份以元素與化學為主題的論文計畫書。
3. 課程參與 (15%)，由同學各自導讀評析文本（15-20分鐘 (7.5%)），並於課後將討論做成2000字的報導 (7.5%)。
4. 加分作業 (10%)，將上課反思投稿 (論理力、新聞感、即時性)，或針對相關專書，結合上課文獻以書評格式投稿。

請同學預備PPT，口頭報告期末project的研究主題。

1. 報告：請修課同學準備「PPT檔（約報告8~10分鐘）」或「Word檔（約2~3頁）」，將期末報告的「主題與現象觀察、研究問題、課堂對應文獻、研究框架、跟「化學與都市」課程關聯、參考資料」等六大方向進行報告（上述項目可自行作微調），當天請務必印出紙本（共印6份，A4大小），方便同學在紙本上做筆記、給你意見、彼此討論。

2. 集合時間地點：當天早上我們9:00在星巴克艋舺門市（地圖：https://goo.gl/maps/SGrxbtxXfwPi3wfg9）見，該門市是美麗的紅磚古蹟建築，距離捷運龍山寺5分鐘走路路程。請大家準時抵達。聞著咖啡香討論完大家的論文後，我們會一起去看「〖氣味之島〗1%臺灣氣味展」（在剝皮寮）。
